"So… how did you come up with the name Funny Farm?"

We get that question a lot!

With 11 kids, 2 grandkids, and a revolving door of animals, calling this place anything but a funny farm just wouldn't make sense. Our life is loud, messy, joyful, and incredibly full and we wouldn't trade a single bit of it.

For years, we were caught in the rhythm most families know too well, demanding careers, packed schedules, and the convenience trap of whatever was fastest at the grocery store. Mike was in contracting. Tiffany was/is in education (do you ever REALLY stop being an educator?). We were doing all the things, but something felt hollow.

We started longing for something different. Our bodies and minds started calling for something slower, something more meaningful, and really just something rooted in purpose.

We didn't fully leave our careers (the bills still need paying), but we stepped back from the pace that was consuming us. We got our hands in the dirt and made a choice to feed our family with real intention. That decision changed everything.

As we started this journey, other families began reaching out. They wanted what we wanted: nourishing food, real connection, a healthier way to live. So we started reading together, talking, learning from each other. Those conversations grew into something we never expected. Sanders Funny Farm wasn't born from a business plan, it grew from families deciding to do life differently, together.
